Auburn and Jefferson are among the ten safest cities in Georgia, according to an annual report by Safewise, a safety and home security research organization. Auburn is the second-safest just behind Senoia; Jefferson comes in fifth.
The rankings “are intended to highlight cities with low per capita crime and ignite conversation and action around how to make all cities and communities safer,” according to the company website. The study looks at the number of violent and property crimes per 1,000 population.
Among Hall County cities and towns that made the list of 86 cities and towns, Flowery Branch is the 18th , Gainesville is 54th and Oakwood 57th. The least safest city in Georgia? College Park.
