HCSO: No serious injuries in three weather-related wrecks Saturday

Hall County authorities said Monday there were no serious injuries reported in three traffic accidents Saturday during the snowstorm.

*Athens Highway at Gillsville Highway: A vehicle slid on the snowy roads and struck a fixed object on Gillsville Highway. The report does not say what type of object it was. Driver actually left the scene of the accident, but deputies were able to locate him at his home address. He was charged with driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, striking a fixed object, duty to stop at an accident and tire conditions.

*On Nopone Road:

(Driver) slid on the roadway when he attempted to stop to avoid a stopped patrol vehicle with lights flashing. The patrol vehicle was blocking the roadway assisting motorists who had become stranded. Vehicle traveled into a ditch. Driver sustained minor injuries and was evaluated by Hall County EMS.

*On Joe Chandler Road:

(Driver) was driving eastbound on Joe Chandler Road near Whippoorwill Road when he lost control of his vehicle on the snowy roadway and hit a fence. He was not injured and was charged with driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane.
