Clyde announces service academy nominations

Congressman Andrew Clyde (R-Jackson) has announced the nomination of 16 students from the 9th District as candidates to the country’s service academies. Each student was nominated to one or more of the academies.

The group is dominated by Gwinnett County students:

Dion Hawkins of Dacula, Mill Creek High School and Kennesaw State University | USAFA 

Bryson Howe of Cleveland, | White County High School | USMA and USNA 

Yihyun “River” Jung of Lawrenceville, GA | North Gwinnett High School | USAFA, USMA, and USNA 

Alexander Lee of Buford,| Peachtree Ridge High School | USAFA, USMA, and USNA 

Yeonjae “Jenny” Lee of Suwanee, | North Gwinnett High School | USAFA and USNA 

Mason Litt of Buford, | Buford High School | USMA 

Marcus Major of Buford, U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School | USAFA 

Kalil Mazone of Suwanee, | North Gwinnett High School | USMA 

Lily Price of Buford, | Georgia Military College | USNA 

Elijah Richards of Buford, | Mill Creek High School | USAFA

The nominees were recommended by his Service Academy Advisory Board after an interview process, which involved students’ academic achievements, leadership skills, and physical aptitude. 

The students will enter their respective academies this summer.
