The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says it has received a number of messages this morning asking for advice on whether you should travel from Point A to Point B, and the honest answer, we are told is: “it depends.”
HCSO FACEBOOK POST:
β’As far as Hall County is concerned, main thoroughfares maintained by the county and Georgia DOT are drivable, but ππ‘ππ«π ππ«π π¬ππ’π₯π₯ π’ππ² π¬ππ«ππππ‘ππ¬ ππ§π π©ππππ‘ππ¬ π¨π§ ππ‘π¨π¬π π¦ππ’π§ π«π¨πππ¬.
β’While no subdivision or side roads are closed in Hall County at this time, you may not be able to drive on an icy hill or curve on those less-traveled roads.
β’We cannot advise on road conditions in other counties, so if youβre going to Atlanta or Athens or Dahlonega, youβll need to check with those jurisdictions.
β’If you decide to venture out, make sure youβve removed all the snow from your vehicle, so itβs not blowing off and hitting other vehicles as you drive. Drive πππ₯π¨π° ππ‘π π©π¨π¬πππ π¬π©πππ π₯π’π¦π’π and make sure youβre leaving additional space between you and the vehicle in front of you.
So, really π’π πππ©ππ§ππ¬ on your level of comfort behind the wheel in winter weather conditions. If youβre unsure, we suggest spending another day at home.”
