‘How are the roads?’ you ask

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says it has received a number of messages this morning asking for advice on whether you should travel from Point A to Point B, and the honest answer, we are told is: “it depends.”

HCSO FACEBOOK POST:

β€’As far as Hall County is concerned, main thoroughfares maintained by the county and Georgia DOT are drivable, but 𝐭𝐑𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐒π₯π₯ 𝐒𝐜𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐑𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐑𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐒𝐧 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐬.

β€’While no subdivision or side roads are closed in Hall County at this time, you may not be able to drive on an icy hill or curve on those less-traveled roads.

β€’We cannot advise on road conditions in other counties, so if you’re going to Atlanta or Athens or Dahlonega, you’ll need to check with those jurisdictions.

β€’If you decide to venture out, make sure you’ve removed all the snow from your vehicle, so it’s not blowing off and hitting other vehicles as you drive. Drive π›πžπ₯𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐑𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 π₯𝐒𝐦𝐒𝐭 and make sure you’re leaving additional space between you and the vehicle in front of you.

So, really 𝐒𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 on your level of comfort behind the wheel in winter weather conditions. If you’re unsure, we suggest spending another day at home.”
