Uninsured rate in Hall Co. for under-65 residents increases

A Census Bureau report released Thursday shows that Hall County is among the counties nationwide where the number of uninsured residents under age 65 increased in 2023 and 2024.

The Small Area Health Insurance Estimates (SAHIE) provide single-year county-level data on health insurance coverage for individuals under age 65. These estimates are based on the 2023 and 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) data.

The report also shows 14% of Georgians in that age group was uninsured, one of the largest percentages in the country. Texas was tops at 19.1% and Vermont had the fewest percentagewise at 5.1.
