More snow is possible in northeast Georgia tonight, according to a mid-afternoon advisory from the National Weather Service (NWS).
“Here’s a look (see map) at the area with the greatest potential for further snow accumulations over the coming hours,” the advisory says. “Further snow remains possible over (the Atlanta area, as well), however this will begin to taper off over the coming hours and little to no further accumulations are expected.”
Meanwhile, temperatures in Gainesville have been falling all day and by 3:00 at the airport it was 20 degrees with a wind chill of 9. That’s a ten-degree drop since 7:00 this morning when it was 30. It’s expected to bottom-out at 13 tonight. Winds all day have been gusting to near 30 mph.
