A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a shed on Whitehall Road earlier this month.
Travis Lee Grindle, 56, was already in jail on a drug possession charge that was filed following a traffic stop Jan. 14.
A spokeswoman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Monday warrants related to the burglary were issued Jan. 23 and were served on him at the county jail.
The other suspect in the case was arrested a couple of weeks ago following a two-county chase with a state trooper than began in Hall County.
EARLIER STORY. POSTED JAN. 14: An Athens man remains in the Hall County Jail after sheriff’s deputies say they found him hiding in a shed on Whitehall Road.
Deputies arrived at the location just before 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 12 to investigate a burglary
in progress. The property owner reported to 911 he was watching surveillance video and could see two
men attempting to break into a shed behind his house. One of the men ran when he saw deputies
approach. He was not located.
Deputies entered the shed and found the second man, identified as Marvin Yizar, Jr., 44, sitting on the
floor of the shed behind a tractor. He was taken into custody and transported to the Hall County Jail.
The investigation determined Yizar used a blunt object to gain access to the shed. The only
item reported missing from the shed was a generator with a value of about $200.
Yizar is being held on a $7,900 bond on a single charge of second-degree burglary.
