Oakwood man facing drug distribution charge

An Oakwood man was arrested Thursday by Flowery Branch Police and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Other charges were also filed following a traffic stop for minor equipment violations.

FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT (FBPD) NEWS RELEASE:

“During the stop, the Officer made contact with the driver, identified as Fernando Orozco, 19, of Oakwood. While speaking with Orozco, Officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Based on probable cause, Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a felony amount of marijuana, THC vape devices, and drug-related objects. 

Orozco was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Hall County Detention Center, where he was booked on the following charges: 

• Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device 

• Window Tint Violation 

• Possession of Drug-Related Objects 

• Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance • Possession of Drug with the Intent to Distribute
