Hiring underway for Gville inland port

The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) is taking applications for jobs at its still-under construction inland port in Gainesville.

These positions include roles such as Operations Administrative Coordinator, Electronic Mechanical Technician, and others. Applications can be submitted through the GPA’s website.

And in an update on the work this week, its second in about a month, the GPA said construction remains on schedule for the Spring opening of the facility.

The Blue Ridge Connector (BRC) will feature six tracks for a total of 18,000 feet connecting with Norfolk Southern, 14 rubber-tired gantries, and is being constructed by local firms Carroll Daniel Construction and Simpson Trucking & Grading. The BRC will provide a door-to-door rail connection for container service between Gainesville-Hall County and the Port of Savannah’s 36 global container ship services that call each week.
