The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners (BOC) and Board of Education (BOE) have approved an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to allow both agencies to used shared fueling sites for official vehicles and school buses.
“This is a win-win-win agreement for the County, the school system and the taxpayers of Forsyth
County,” said County Manager David McKee. “It makes great economic sense for the shared fueling site partnership to allow both agencies access to key sites for fueling, ultimately resulting in cost-
savings for both the county and the school system.”
“This is a smart, practical partnership,” said school Superintendent Mitch Young. “By working together
and using the fueling locations closest to our routes, we’re saving time, reducing miles on the road,
and being good stewards of taxpayer dollars.”
The IGA allows Forsyth County access to school system’s North Forsyth High School propane fueling
station, allowing the County access to an already established propane fueling site for the County’s
new propane fueled fleet vehicles.
It also grants the school system to access to the County’s Fowler Park fueling station, allowing the
Denmark High School system’s buses to re-fuel closer to school district, thus reducing the distance
needed to reach the closest school system fueling site.
