Two Cumming residents are probably thankful they played the Georgia Lottery Thanksgiving week. Between the two of them, they took home nearly $200,000 in winnings.

An Americus resident won a $1 million top prize playing the Millionaire Maker scratcher from the Georgia Lottery. The lucky ticket was purchased at Sam’s Danfair Express, 1101 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. in Americus. The player claimed their winnings on Dec. 1. Last week, Georgia Lottery players claimed $41,330,274 playing scratch-off games.
Powerball players have seen big wins in the last week. A ticket matched all five white-ball numbers in the Dec. 1 drawing to win $1 million. That ticket was from Publix, 5829 Campbellton Road in Atlanta. Two players won $50,000 in the Nov. 29 drawing by matching four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball. One ticket was purchased at Murphy USA, 5415 Atlanta Highway in Alpharetta, and the other was purchased on the Georgia Lottery mobile app by an Alpharetta player. Finally, two more tickets won $50,000 in the Nov. 26 drawing. Those tickets were purchased at Pure Food Mart, 1405 US Highway 82 W. in Leesburg, and at Lake Food Mart, 2240 Forest Parkway in Morrow. The next Powerball drawing will be Dec. 6 with an estimated jackpot of $820 million, the eighth highest in the game’s history.
A Georgia Lottery player hit the jackpot for $194,069 in the Nov. 28 Fantasy 5 drawing with a ticket from Fairburn Texaco, 425 Senoia Road in Fairburn. Two nights later, another player hit the jackpot for $150,000 in the Nov. 30 drawing with a ticket from QuikTrip, 3660 Browns Bridge Rd. in Cumming.
A Quick Win player hit the jackpot for $34,275 playing Double W!N Quick Win on Dec. 3 at Raceway, 1406 N. Saint Augustine Road in Valdosta.
The holiday weekend closed out with several big wins for Diggi Game players on the Georgia Lottery website and mobile app:
- A player in Warner Robins won $445,728 playing Santa Claws on Dec. 1
- An Augusta player won $50,000 playing Twice As Spice on Nov. 27
- A resident of Cumming won $27,118 playing Bison Stampede on Nov. 28
- A Guyton resident won $20,000 playing Lucky Coins on Dec. 1
- An Augusta player won $16,998 playing Elephant King Jackpots on Dec. 2
- A St. Marys resident won $15,000 playing Elephant King Jackpots on Nov. 27
