S. Hall incident leads to drug, weapons, assault charges and more

A Braselton man remained in the Hall County Jail Sunday afternoon, a week after he was arrested on a number of charges that began with a domestic incident in South Hall. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dylan Tyler Jones, 33, outside a residence on Village South Drive last Sunday.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found Jones suffering from a bloody nose and redness to his face and learned Jones had been involved in a conflict with two adult victims.

The investigation determined Jones kicked in the front door of his residence while a female victim, who also lives there, was inside. The two had been involved in a verbal argument before Jones damaged the door. A neighbor, the male victim, witnessed the incident and confronted Jones outside the residence. Jones then pulled a knife and charged at the neighbor. The neighbor struck Jones, briefly rendering him unconscious. Deputies also learned Jones had been consuming alcohol and firing a gun outside the residence that evening.

The sheriff’s office reported deputies recovered the knife and gun at the scene. They also found a small quantity of cocaine (0.35 grams) in Jones’s possession during a search before transporting him to the Hall County Jail.

Jones was charged with aggravated assault, possession of cocaine, discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, and criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act (FVA). He remains in custody at the Hall County Jail without bond.

Neither victim was injured, but the male victim was taken into custody on a probation violation warrant unrelated to the incident.
