HCSO: Sir, that doesn’t look like it was caused by a bullet

A week after his arrest in Flowery Branch, a Gainesville man facing several drug-related charges, remained in the Hall County Jail late Wednesday afternoon.

William Michael Allison, 35, had called authorities saying he believed someone had shot at his vehicle. But after a bit of investigating, Hall County sheriff’s deputies concluded that’s not what happened.

The case unfolded in the early morning hours of last Wednesday.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“At roughly 4:20 a.m., deputies responded to a gas station in the 5800 block of Phil Niekro Boulevard at the request of Flowery Branch Police Officers. Officers were investigating a claim by (Allison) that his vehicle tire had been shot out. While interacting with him, officers noticed signs of impairment in Allison and requested deputies for assistance.

During their initial investigation, deputies determined that Allison had been driving under the influence. When they searched Allison following the arrest, they found approximately 14 grams of cocaine, three vials of testosterone, two oxycodone pills and a metal spoon with discolored cotton residue. In addition to DUI, deputies charged Allison with the following crimes:

  • Possession of cocaine (felony)
  • Possession of a schedule III drug (felony)
  • Possession of a schedule II drug (felony)
  • Drugs not in original container (misdemeanor)
  • Possession of drug-related objects (misdemeanor)

Deputies examined Allison’s vehicle tire and determined the damage was consistent with hitting a curb and not a gunshot…”
