HCFR NEWS RELEASE:
“At approximately 7:30 (Monday night) Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to the 4600 block of Guth Road in Flowery Branch for reports of a residential fire. First arriving crews discovered heavy fire in the attic space and roof line. (Battling frigid temperatures and winds topping 20 miles-an-hour at times), an interior attack was made on the bulk of the fire utilizing water from the engines on scene. Due to the location of the home, a hydrant was not available for water supply. Crews shuttled water to the scene, and the tender was also utilized for water supply.
The bulk of the fire was extinguished, and hot spots were located prior to HCFR personnel leaving the scene. Two adults were displaced as a result, and the residence was a total loss.
At approximately 8:00 (Tuesday morning), (units were) dispatched again to the same address due to a rekindle. What was left of the structure from the night before, was now fully involved by the time they arrived on scene. Crews extinguished the flames and prevented any further extension to the surrounding woods and properties…
No injuries were reported from both fires, and the homeowners had exited the home prior. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.”
