Mortgage-free home presented to Jackson Co. veteran

A Jackson County veteran who was wounded in Afghanistan was recently presented with a mortgage-free home by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Army Sergeant Samuel Walley of Pendergrass was hit by an IED while deployed in Afghanistan, suffering a traumatic brain injury in the blast and lost both his right leg above the knee and his left arm below the elbow.

Tunnel to Towers, which has served veterans since 9/11, presented a new, mortgage-free smart home to Sgt. Walley, his wife, Hannah, and their two children.
