*The North Georgia Community Foundation’s Oak Society members recently came together to cast their votes and select its inaugural grant recipient: the Gainesville Police Department. A check for $10,000 for the department’s Mental Health Clinician Program was presented.
*Dr. Tammy Howard is the new Director of Resident Services at the Gainesville Housing Authority. Dr. Howard has 29 years of experience in housing authority settings.
*Gainesville’s 2025 First Friday Concert Series comes to a close this week with an “outlaw country artist from North Georgia” headlining the season finale: classic country/southern rock Gregg Erwin Band. The city-hosted event is slated for 7:00-10:00 Friday on the downtown square. The annual summer concert series is held monthly April-September.
