Two Gainesville area police departments are among the latest in the state to receive grants from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
The Auburn Police Department will use a $30,000 technology grant in the replacement and upgrading of mobile computers used by patrol officers.
The Cleveland department is getting a High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) grant totaling $28,574. Officers will use it for high-visibility patrol programs such as the “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt awareness and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over DUI” campaigns.
