Hall County will have a new Director of Public Works effective Oct. 6 but Jorge Gomez is no stranger to Hall County government.
“Jorge previously served as the assistant director of Public Works before a brief departure, and we are excited to welcome him back in this new role, as we know he will be an asset in this position,” County Administrator Zach Propes said.
Gomez is a professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience in Florida and Georgia primarily serving in the government sector. Gomez began with Hall County in 2021 as the assistant county engineer and quickly moved into the assistant director’s role in 2023 before assuming a director’s role with the City of Brookhaven for a brief period of time.
“Jorge brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and strategic project management to the Public Works Department,” Propes said. “I look forward to our community realizing the benefits of his service-minded leadership.”
