GDOT NEWS RELEASE:
“The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announces a scheduled traffic shift on State Route (SR) 211 at the Double Roundabout Project near Exit 126 on I-85 in Braselton. The shift will take place on Tuesday, August 26, and Wednesday, August 27, 2025, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day, weather and on-site conditions permitting.
During this operation, northbound SR 211 traffic will be shifted to the right of the new median. This shift will allow contractors to begin tying in the new median for its final configuration. In addition, new turn lanes providing access to businesses along SR 211 northbound will be opened, and the new traffic signal at the intersection will be fully operational to assist motorists navigating the area.
Motorists traveling through the area are urged to:
- Pay close attention to signage and lane adjustments in place.
- Consider alternate routes during the work hours to avoid delays and potential traffic backups.
- Drive with caution as crews and equipment will be present.
This traffic shift marks an important step toward the completion of the SR 211 Double Roundabout Project, designed to enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and provide better access to local businesses and I-85.
