A worker at a Gainesville daycare was being held on $7,900 bond late Wednesday afternoon after being charged with cruelty to children following an injury to one of the children in her care.
“Police met with the mother of a 1-year-old male child,” Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email Wednesday. “(The) child allegedly received a long linear vertical fracture to his left (arm) on 6/18/25 at Joyland Daycare.”
Abigail Arriaga-Arriaga, 26, has been charged with negligence in the case, “as the caretaker who allegedly broke the child’s arm and not seeking medical attention or notifying anyone of said injury,” Lt. Holbrook added.
Arriaga-Arriaga was arrested Monday.
