Brenau welcomes largest ever freshman class

With classes resuming Aug. 18, Brenau University is busy this week with an expected first-day enrollment of 2,436 which includes a record number of first-year students.

On the first day of the fall 2025 semester, Brenau’s expected enrollment included 1,336 undergraduate students, including 345 new first-year and transfer students. The figure marks Brenau’s largest first-year student intake on record, according to officials.

Enrollment figures were anticipated students based on head count as of Aug. 18. Enrollment data will not be finalized until after the drop/add period ends Aug. 25, and head counts are likely to change.

Brenau also begins the year at capacity for residential students, with more than 450 beds. Most students moved into residence halls on the university’s historic Gainesville Campus on Aug. 13-17, but student-athletes, international students and student leaders moved in earlier in the month.

Welcome Week, with a variety of events for new and returning students, continues throughout Aug. 25.
