A Cumming policeman’s action in response to a recent call he answered has prompted his boss to praise him for going “above and beyond” the call of duty.
“I want to share something special that happened here in the City of Cumming,” Cumming Police Chief PJ Girvan recently wrote on Facebook.
“Last week, Officer Nielsen and Sgt. Burns responded to an alarm call. Thankfully, it was just a false alarm, but while they were there, the homeowner asked what she could do to keep a better eye on her home when she’s away.”
A few days later, Chief Girvan wrote, Officer Nielsen went back to her house and installed a Ring Doorbell camera for her.
“That’s going above and beyond for our community, and I’m proud to have officers like him on our team,” Girvan added. “Great job, Officer Nielsen!”
