Board of Regents OKs new STEM building at UNG

The new budget for Georgia’s public colleges and universities approved earlier this week by the state Board of Regents contains funding for a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) building at the University of North Georgia (UNG).

Eight million dollars has been earmarked for the project.

UNG spokesman Clark Leonard confirmed Thursday that plans are in the works for the building while adding ” At this time, the public documents from USG (University System of Georgia) will be the extent of the details available.”

The building is one of five construction projects around the state, totaling $31 million, included in the budget. FY26_Capital_Summary_Conf_Committee.pdf
