5:00 P.M. THURSDAY UPDATE:
A 26-year-old Lula man, Justin Tyler Tyndall, has been charged in connection with the Wednesday after police chase that ended at Stephens and Flat Creek roads when his car crashed into another vehicle at the intersection. Tyndall is facing eight charges including fleeing and attempting to elude, DUI-drugs, possession of a controlled substance, speeding (2 counts), passing in a no passing zone, failure to maintain lane, and running a stop sign.
The driver of the car that was hit by Tyndall’s, a 22-year-old Gainesville woman, suffered minor injuries, according to the state patrol.

For the second time in a week, a Hall County police chase has involved an innocent motorist.
STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“On (Wednesday afternoon about 3:00) a Trooper from Post-6 Gainesville responded to assist Oakwood Police Department with a vehicle that fled from a traffic stop.
At that time, the trooper observed the vehicle (a purple Scion TC) and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The Scion TC failed to stop, initiating a pursuit.
While traveling south on Stephens Rd approaching Flat Creek Rd, the driver of the Scion TC failed to stop at the stop sign and attempted to make a right turn onto Flat Creek Rd. While attempting to do so, the Scion TC struck a Black Nissan Altima that was stopped on Flat Creek Rd at the intersection of Stephens Rd.
The driver of the Scion TC was arrested on scene without further incident. The driver of the Nissan Altima sustained minor injuries and was not transported.”
Names of those involved and charges against the driver who was being chased were not available early Thursday. A state patrol spokeswoman said she had requested that information.
