Detectives with the Baltimore County (Maryland) Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested 52-year-old Thomas Pinkerton of Winder on multiple sex offense charges stemming from abuse that occurred between 2006 and 2010.
During that timeframe, Pinkerton worked at Central Christian Church in Baltimore. It is suspected the abuse occurred at the church and at Pinkerton’s Baltimore County home.
He is facing 24 charges:
- Six counts of sexually abusing a minor
- Six counts of second-degree child abuse
- Six counts of second-degree assault
- Four counts of fourth-degree sexual offense
- Two counts of third-degree sexual offense
Pinkerton was extradited to Maryland on Wednesday and is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on no bond.
Detectives do believe there may be more victims of Pinkerton’s abuse who have yet to come forward.
