August is off to a strong start for Georgia Lottery players, including two from northeast Georgia, and headlined by a $1 million Powerball prize in the August 2 drawing. That winning ticket matched all five white-ball numbers and was purchased at Shell Food Mart, 3152 Memorial Drive in Decatur.
Northeast Georgians cashing in include a Toccoa resident who won $293,691 playing the Georgia Jackpot Bankroll Diggi Game on the mobile app and a Blairsville resident who won $30,000 playing Hot Pepper Payout.
Other winners since the first of the month were from Savannah, Atlanta, Rincon, Guyton, Macon and College Park.
