Hall Recovers ‘Night of Awareness’ set for Aug. 31

HALL RECOVERS NEWS RELEASE:

“J’s Place Recovery Center and community partners are planning the 6th Annual HALL RECOVERS Night of Awareness on Sunday, August 31 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the amphitheater at Midland Greenway in Gainesville. The event, presented by Northeast Georgia Health System, is held on International Overdose Awareness Day and recognizes those we have lost as a result of substance use disorder and honors those in recovery.

Event planner Jordan Hussey, Executive Director of J’s Place Recovery Center, said, “The annual HALL RECOVERS event has made a powerful impact on our recovery community and family and friends of those we’ve lost.  Individuals and advocates of recovery will be highlighted with the event culminating in a candlelight vigil recognizing loved ones we have lost.”

Multi-sport athlete Quincy Carter, a UGA and NFL standout quarterback and MLB player, will discuss his battle with addiction and road to recovery.

The event is open to the public with food onsite as well as music, exhibitors, nonprofits and resources.  HALL RECOVERS T-Shirts will be distributed to the FIRST 100 attendees!

Local recovery motorcycle associations will serve complimentary hamburgers and hotdogs, along with FREE shaved ice treats.  Sponsorship contributions will go towards the purchase of Narcan that will be given away at the event while supplies last.
