Social media was abuzz Monday night with chatter from the Pine Valley/Clarkes Bridge Road area about law enforcement officers roaming neighborhoods, some with police dogs. Turns out it was a search for a suspected car thief.
“Officers located a stolen vehicle, driver of the vehicle fled on foot, attempted to locate with K9 but were unsuccessful,” Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email.
Hall County sheriff’s deputies assisted Gainesville Police in the search.
