Whether its a sporting event, concert or play, there’s a new “bag” policy in effect with Tuesday’s start of the new school year for the Gainesville City School System (GCSS).
“For those attending tonight’s season opener for softball at Gainesville High School or scrimmage for football at City Park, and for those who attend future events at any of our Gainesville City Schools’ venues, please note that we’ve adopted a clear bag policy effective immediately,” reads at recent GCSS Facebook posting.
So, what’s acceptable and what’s not?
Let’s begin with the acceptable: clear bags, diaper bags, camera bags, and small clutch bags with or without a strap.
The list of banned bags is much longer: purses, briefcases, laptop bags, backpacks, cinch bags, oversized totes, coolers, tinted plastic bags, fanny packs, and cushions with a pocket.
