*Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene announced on Tuesday that she will not run for Georgia governor, following her earlier decision to decline a Senate challenge against Democrat Jon Ossoff. She reportedly wrote on social media “If I wanted to run, we all know I would win. It’s not even debatable.” The races for Georgia governor and U.S. Senate are key focuses in the 2026 midterm elections.
*The Georgia State Election Board ruled that ridesharing company Lyft violated state law by offering discounted rides to the polls on Election Day. The board found that the discounts constituted a violation of the law against paying for votes. Fox 5 reports that while Lyft and other ridesharing services have offered discounts for voters heading to the polls in Georgia for the past few years, the board determined that the program unfairly benefited voters in metro areas over those in rural parts of the state. The ruling does not result in any punishment or criminal investigation, but Lyft will be informed that their policy violates Georgia election law.
*Georgia’s family and children services office is looking into a case involving a dozen kids at a Clayton County church. Channel Two reports the teens were removed from the basement at Now Faith Apostolic Church on Rex Road earlier this week after firefighters responded to a medical call. The fire marshal says certain regulations are required for fire protection systems that didn’t meet regulations.
