“Criminal investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office have filed child molestation charges against a suspect who was charged last month in a related case by the Gainesville Police Department.
Guillermo Melchor-Diaz, 46, who lives in Gainesville, has been in custody at the Hall County Jail since his arrest on June 12, 2025. He was placed on an immigration hold the day after his arrest on the Gainesville PD charges.
According to the ongoing investigation, Melchor-Diaz sexually assaulted a female child at an address on Ironwood Drive in Hall County between the dates of March 1 and April 30, 2025. Melchor-Diaz is accused of touching the girl inappropriately on at least two occasions. The victim, who is under the age of 12, is known to the victim. She is related to the victim in the Gainesville PD case.”
