One of the two congressmen who serve Hall County says he has decided against running for Senate next year.
“U.S. Republican Representative Rich McCormick is not entering the race for Senate. The AJC reports a senior aide says McCormick will not be challenging Senator Jon Ossoff in 2026,” the Georgia News Network reported Tuesday.
McCormick had been mentioned early on a possible candidate after Gov. Kemp decided against running.
In addition to part of Hall, McCormick also represents all of Dawson, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties, as well as others outside the immediate Gainesville area.
