CUMMING NEWS RELEASE:
“Dobbs Creek Recreation Center, located at 1115 Dahlonega Hwy., will be
closed from July 28, 2025, through Sept. 1, 2025. Dobbs Creek Recreation Center will reopen on
Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.
This closure is necessary for the resurfacing of hardwood basketball courts, a critical
maintenance task that is performed every eight to 10 years to ensure the safety and quality of
the courts. The restroom facilities at Dobbs Creek will also undergo a full renovation during the
closure.
“We understand the importance of the Dobbs Creek Recreation Center to our community, and
we appreciate our patrons’ patience as we complete this essential work,” said Jeremy Howell,
Cumming Recreation & Parks Department Director. “We have scheduled the majority of the
project during days after school is back in session to hopefully lessen the impact on local
families.”
During the closure period, Dobbs Creek open gym/play sessions will be suspended. All other
Dobbs Creek programs, such as gymnastics and self-defense, will be held at the Cumming
Events Center inside the main CRPD facility at 437 Pilgrim Mill Road. No programs or classes
normally held at 437 Pilgrim Mill Road will be impacted by the Dobbs Creek closure.
Anyone with questions about the closure or Dobbs Creek Recreation Membership Pass
extensions, should call 770-781-2030 or email [email protected]…”
