HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies arrested a Forsyth, Ga. man on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and false imprisonment following a violent incident in the Oakwood area on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Uniform patrol deputies responded to a residence in Oakwood on Saturday, July 5, to meet with the 51-year-old female victim. Deputies observed the victim had suffered obvious injuries to her face, including a broken nose. The initial investigation determined Michael Dwayne Charles, 37, had been a guest in the victim’s home the night of July 3. On Friday night, the victim and Mr. Charles had a verbal argument that escalated into physical violence. Mr. Charles knocked the victim to the ground, striking her on the face. He also placed both hands around the victim’s neck in an attempt to strangle her. When Mr. Charles stopped his assault, the victim attempted to leave her residence, but Mr. Charles grabbed her, telling her she was not allowed to exit the house. Eventually, she was able to leave and go to a neighbor’s home for help. Mr. Charles left the scene.
Based on further investigation, deputies located Mr. Charles at a residence on Cagle Road Saturday afternoon and took him into custody.
At this time, Mr. Charles remains at the Hall County Jail with no bond.”
