The Vietnam War: Remembering those from Hall who gave all

The Vietnam War ended 50 years ago this week but not before taking the lives of countless Vietnamese and more than 50,000 U.S. military personnel, including 1,582 from Georgia. That latter number includes at least 28 from Hall County.

The Hall County causalities included 23 from Gainesville and one each from Clermont, Flowery Branch, Murrayville, Sardis, and Oakwood. They a memorialized in a section of Veterans Park which is located across from the downtown library at the intersection of West Academy and Main streets.
