A Gainesville man suffered traumatic injuries when an SUV struck him on McEver Road
just after 4:00 Wednesday morning while he was reportedly skateboarding to work.
HCSO NEWS RELEASE:
“According to the preliminary investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO)
Accident Investigation Unit (AIU), 21-year-old Jose Roman was riding his skateboard in the
left southbound lane of McEver Road near Waterford Drive when he was hit. The driver of
the vehicle (2010 Chevrolet HHR) was also traveling in the left southbound lane at the time.
The driver stopped at the scene and called 911. AIU investigators determined the driver
was not at fault in the collision.
Mr. Roman was transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in
Gainesville for treatment of multiple injuries.
The investigation determined Mr. Roman was on his way to work at Walmart on Browns
Bridge Road at the time of the accident.”
