White County Supt. of Schools Dr. Laurie Burkett has been named winner of this year’s President’s Award from the Georgia School Superintendents Association.
The award was presented recently at the group’s annual conference. It is given each year to a superintendent “who demonstrates outstanding leadership in their school system and community.”
“WCSS (the White County School System) couldn’t be prouder to have Dr. Burkett as our leader,” a WCSS Facebook posting reads. “Her guidance inspires excellence in everything we do.”
Dr. Burkett has held the post since 2018.
