First-time applications for unemployment insurance last month were up in Hall County 4.2% compared to February and 7.4% compared to March a year ago.
Claims statewide in March were down over the month 5.7% but up 8.1% from last March. In the 12-county Georgia Mountains Region, which includes Hall County, applications decreased 12.4 and 15.8 percent, respectively.
