Kristie Turner of Hall County Government’s Planning and Zoning Department has been named director of Development Services, effective May 19.
Turner, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational/Project Management from Colorado Christian University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Florida, has served as the principal planner for Hall County Government for the past year.
Prior to her role with Hall County Government, Turner served as the county planner and interim building department manager in Casper, Wyoming, where she managed the Planning and Code Enforcement departments, led the Board of Appeals and Planning and Zoning Commission, and managed the departmental budgets.
Capt. Barry Shaw of the Marshal’s Office has served as the interim director since Dec. 11. Shaw will continue his services as the County navigates this leadership transition.
“Barry has done a tremendous job leading the Development Services Department while we searched for the right candidate to fill this role. We are appreciative of his leadership and look forward to all his office will accomplish working alongside Kristie in her new leadership role,” Propes said.
