Another kudo for Burrell

The former President & CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) has been lauded by several organizations over the past year or so since announcing her plans to step down this year.

Now comes one from the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA).

GHA President and CEO Caylee Noggle (pictured with Burrell) recently presented one of the organization’s most prestigious awards, the W. Daniel Barker Leadership Award, to Burrell.

“Carol’s impact on Georgians will be felt for years to come,” said Caylee. “Not only has she been a champion for our association, but she’s also served as a collaborator with other CEOs around the state, forging relationships that strengthen public health and ensure continued access to care. Her deep commitment to growing the workforce by establishing new graduate medical education programs and creating other programs that have made lasting impacts on families in this region, speaks to the legacy she’s leaving behind.”

Burrell’s successor – as of April 1 – is Matt Hanley, MD, who came to Gainesville from St. Louis, where served as Market President for Navvis Healthcare. Value-Based Care & Population Health Partners | Navvis Healthcare
