A new report from the state details the disciplinary action taken in school systems around the Georgia last year.
Locally, there were 982 incidents out of 9,049 students in the Gainesville City School System. This resulted in an In School Suspension Rate of 6.7%, an Out of School Suspension Rate of 5.6%, and Expulsion Rate of 0.1%. Total number of incidents: 2,133.
In the much larger Hall County School District (HCSD), there were 4,105 incidents reported out of 29,528 students. The In School Suspension Rate was ten percent, Out of School 4.6%. Expulsion Rate: 0%. The total number of incidents: 8,671.
The report was released by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.
