OAKWOOD POLICE NEWS RELEASE:
“On 9/10/2023, Hall County 911 received a call from a female suspect stating she intended to enter the Oakwood Walmart and shoot people inside the store. Immediate response to the store by Oakwood Police, University of North Georgia Police, Flowery Branch Police and Hall County Sheriff’s Office personnel resulted in a lock down and evacuation of the store and careful searches of the facility.
No incident occurred and no violator was located at the store. Store management decided when to reopen the store, and Oakwood investigators Sergeant Stewart Webb and Detective Chris Campbell began the process of attempting to determine who the caller was that perpetrated the apparent hoax. The initial call was made from a cell phone and investigators were able to identify the previous owner of the phone, as well as the subject’s last known address. After going to the residence to try to make contact with the phone’s owner, investigators were able to discover that the hoax call had been made by the daughter of the individual who last owned the phone.
Paquasha Randolph, 27 years of age of Gainesville, was arrested and transported to the Hall County Jail. She was booked into the jail on (charges of Terroristic Threats, Offense Against Public Order), Misuse of 911, False Report of a Crime in Progress, Domestic Terrorism, and False Name/DOB).”
