Gainesville Police Tuesday morning released the name of the passenger involved in a wreck last week in which the vehicle left a city street and hit a tree. Spokesman Kevin Holbrook says he’s Victor Perez, 23, of Gainesville.

A 23-year-old man was still in the Hall County Jail without bond Monday afternoon following his arrest on charges that include serious injury by vehicle. Lt. Kevin Holbrook of the Gainesville Police Department says Steven Alexandro Lopez was driving a car that struck a tree on Willow Ridge Circle. Information on the injured passenger were not immediately available Monday. The accident happened last Thursday though details on it and Lopez’s arrest were not released until Monday. Other charges include:

* RECKLESS DRIVING 1ST OFFENSE
* FAIL TO MAINTAIN LANE
* SAFETY BELTS ; REQUIRED USAGE
* OPEN CONTAINER VIOLATION WHILE OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE
* BASIC RULES – TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS * SERIOUS INJURY BY VEHICLE
