Georgia football has announced that its annual spring game will be played on April 12. Spring practice will begin on March 11 and Georgia’s pro day is set for March 12. A start time and television network for G-Day has not yet been announced.
Schools like Texas, USC and Nebraska have all said they will not have a spring game.
But Georgia sees it as important.
“You know, you’ve got to take it year to year on things like that,” Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks said. “But I can say one thing I appreciate about Coach Smart is that he understands the value of the game, and it is an opportunity for some of our fans to come see what the players and they may or may have season tickets. It’s always been a special day, and I think it’s in the plans for this year.”
Georgia went 11-3 this past season, winning the SEC. The Bulldogs’ season came to an end with a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff.
