The real estate frenzy spurred by the coronavirus pandemic continues, though at a slower pace, according to a new report from Stacker, which found that in Hall County Clermont is leading the way when it comes to home price increases.
The typical home value in the North Hall town was $403,815, a 5.8% increase over January 2023, and significantly higher than the national numbers: $356,776 and 2.6% higher.
Meanwhile, in metro Atlanta, neighboring Cumming is now the 11th most expensive city. The typical home value there is $597,841. The most expensive? Milton, where that figure is $884,052.
Increasing mortgage rates have slowed growth, the study found, with prices even declining in some places. But some areas are still seeing price jumps compared to the year before. The reports notes that buyers are still competing for a limited supply of housing, which is driving up prices for affordable properties.
