Commerce Police Chief Ken Harmon is retiring after a 23-year career with the city, the last four of them as chief.
With law enforcement experience with the State of Florida, University of Georgia Police Department, and the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Harmon joined the Commerce Police Department in 2002. He has served in variety of capacities over the years, including Uniformed Division Commander, Criminal Investigative Division Commander, DEA Task Force Officer, and Deputy Chief in addition to Chief.
He will retire having served 32 years in law enforcement. The effective date of his retirement is February 21.
