Drought coverage, intensity in Ga. again virtually unchanged

For the third straight week, drought conditions and the area covered in Georgia remained unchanged Thursday.

The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) reports that just like last week and the week before, about 56 percent of the state is drought-free. Those areas that are suffering some degree of drought are confined mostly to east central, southeast and southwest Georgia.

And the level of Lake Lanier? It hasn’t changed much, either, moving up a tenth of a foot to 1069.5.
