‘An opportunity to re-think poverty’

Good News at Noon, Peach State Bank & Trust, and The Norton
Agency have teamed up with True Charity to host a Community Workshop aimed at
“fostering more effective, compassionate responses to poverty” in Gainesville and the
surrounding areas.

True Charity, a national organization dedicated to championing a
resurgence of civil society in the fight against poverty, will bring its team of experts to town
to share seven key principles of effective charity, blending philosophy with practical
solutions.

“Many who are facing poverty are trapped in a cycle of generational dependency,” according to a news release announcing the event.

The workshop will explore how to break this cycle through “relational,
work-oriented, results-driven care that truly empowers those in need. This workshop
provides a unique opportunity for local leaders, organizations, and community
members to discuss the complexities of poverty in Georgia and consider actionable
strategies for long-term development.”
