A Hall County school bus driver was cited following an accident in North Hall Wednesday in which has vehicle struck the back of an SUV.
GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“…at 2:47 pm, Troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Old Cornelia Highway at Shady Valley Road. Upon arrival, the Troopers determined a Hall County School Bus…was traveling east behind a Ford Bronco driven by Shirley Boyle, 75, of Homer. Ms. Boyle slowed to a stop due to another school bus offloading children that was traveling west on Old Cornelia Highway. (The bus behind her) was following too closely and was unable to slow down in time to avoid a crash. As a result, the front bumper of the school bus struck the rear of the Ford Bronco. Ms. Boyle was transported by Hall County EMS for the treatment of…non-life-threatening injuries. The school bus had 30 students on board, no injuries were reported from the bus.
One Citation was issued to (the bus driver) for following too closely.”
EARLIER STORY. POSTED AT 3:45 P.M. WEDNESDAY:
No one was injured in an accident about mid-afternoon Wednesday in North Hall involving a Hall County school bus.
“The accident involved bus 3054 and it happened at 2540 Old Cornelia Highway,” school system spokesman Stan Lewis said. “There were 30 LCCA (Lanier College Career Academy) students on board. No injuries.”
The state patrol is investigating the crash. Details on how it happened were not immediately available.
