Several teachers from the Gainesville and Hall County school systems are among the 2024 Jackson EMC (JEMC) Bright Ideas winners. In all, there are 55 winners from throughout the electric co-op’s service area. This year, the cooperative invested a total of $71,956 in educators from 29 local middle schools.
The Bright Ideas grant program awards up to $2,000 to sixth through eighth-grade teachers in Jackson EMC’s service area for “innovative” class projects that would go unfunded otherwise. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open in August.
